The Lost Space Armchair takes place in the third act of THESHAW's Future Vestige series. It is the climax of the movie, a moment for which you are so engaged you cannot bear to look away. The form of this armchair breaks the usual conventions of homeware with its rigid, cold, cocoon-like bodice. Like a living body passing through it from the future, the backrest extends in an arc towards the rear, as if wings would spread out of it at any moment. The base takes form with neat and symmetrical rectangles creating a staunch base. Available in two materials, one a hand-polished stainless steel and the other in pure white resin. Each is a statement seat that takes your mind across great distances, it makes for a strong installation piece. The Future Vestige series is a philosophical endeavour about freeing one's spirit. To no longer have your consciousness tethered to technology or rationality.
